Το London Metropolitan University σε συνεργασία με τον Δήμο Λευκωσίας διοργανώνουν συμπόσιο αφιερωμένο στη Λευκωσία, με τίτλο «Λευκωσία: η Τελευταία Μοιρασμένη Πρωτεύουσα της Ευρώπης».
Το συμπόσιο θα διεξαχθεί το Σάββατο 5 Νοεμβρίου 2011 [08:45 - 17:00] στο Λεβέντειο Δημοτικό Μουσείο Λευκωσίας. Διακεκριμένοι ομιλητές και ακαδημαϊκοί θα παρουσιάσουν θέματα που αφορούν την ιστορία αλλά και τη σύγχρονη πραγματικότητα της πόλης.
Η Δήμαρχος Λευκωσίας Ελένη Μαύρου θα απευθύνει σύντομο χαιρετισμό κατά την έναρξη του συμποσίου.
Το συμπόσιο διοργανώθηκε για πρώτη φορά τον Ιούνιο του 2011 στο Λονδίνο με μεγάλη επιτυχία.
Οι ομιλίες θα δοθούν στα αγγλικά.
